We are at the top, but we must remain focused to be lively as many points as possible. Our ultimate goal is the podium, our fourth podium, and stay ahead in Montmelo.
- Jorge Lorenzo
Indeed, at this time Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo, still lead the standings and won the second series race in Jerez, Spain (and twice runner-up). However, in reality, the defending champion has not been able to compensate for the speed of the Honda duo of this year. In fact, in the GP of Portugal, she conquered Dani Pedrosa even had time to dominate more than half of the race.
However, after the repairs and have been tested during a test at Estoril, the Yamaha more confident. Team Manager Wilco Zeelenberg said, changes made during the trial allows for more comfortable Lorenzo again during the race, starting at the French GP this weekend.
"We're undergoing a fantastic test at Estoril. Everybody was surprised with the nice weather so we have the opportunity to try many things," said Zeelenberg.
"Hopefully we can find the best step back from the test results to improve the setting so that Jorge could perform again with his old style when entering the fast corners, which it (racing style) lost in three races that have been passed."
"We've given it back to him so we are confident that he could perform better in France and for the rest of this season."
Yamaha has a good record in the Le Mans Circuit, France. The reason, in the last three seasons they have always been a winner, with two victories last achieved Lorenzo. Zeelenberg hope duo racer, Lorenzo and Ben Spies, can play well at this weekend's determination to realize Yamaha fourth victory in the circuit.
"Le Mans is a track Yamaha because everything worked fine for us so the place would also be good for Ben to come back and be on the podium," said Zeelenberg.
Meanwhile, Lorenzo said the priority this weekend is to be on the podium. However, when performed at home in Barcelona in two weeks, former double world champion 250 cc class was set a target champion.
"We are at the top, but we must remain focused to be lively as many points as possible," said Lorenzo. "Our main goal is the podium, our fourth podium, and stay ahead in Montmelo."
