Ducati has not stated their commitment to participate in the Japanese Grand Prix race in early October. Italian factory team is still concerned with the safety of nuclear reactors in Fukushima.
Actually, Dorna was a recommendation that the Japanese Grand Prix can go ahead as planned because of the radiation can be ignored. However, the close distance between the Motegi Circuit in Fukushima nuclear reactors, which were damaged by the earthquake and tsunami disaster in March, making the Ducati is still paranoid.
Valentino has recently been explicitly told that he would boycott the race which took place on October 2nd that. Some members of the Ducati squad also stated something similar, and they worry about the trip to Japan. In fact, the investigation team formed Dorna has given the recommendation that no harmful radiation in Japan.
However, Ducati boss, Alessandro Cicognani, said that a final decision has not been taken, although the team based in Bologna that has a contract with Dorna (MotoGP rights owners) that they should join the race in Japan.
"We care about our employees, so we want to explore more of what has been notified. As a company, we have to check and do everything in order to understand that everything is safe. We do not want to put them (employees) into a situation with a risk potential, "said Cicognani.
"We talked with experts to understand more clearly about the situation, and to help understand the concerns of our staff. In Italy there are many legal issues regarding worker safety, so we must be sure that we're doing the right thing. It's not just a matter of taking part in championship, but also the question of whether we are in a safe part of the law. I do not doubt the report Dorna, and I think in the end they did a good job. However, this work is done one month ago, and my understanding is the situation is changing every day , "added Cicognani.
Regarding the certainty come racing in Japan or not, Rossi is expected to declare a final decision when appearing at Misano this weekend, although he has indicated will be absent. During the last weekend in Indianapolis GP, Rossi said he was "afraid" to join the race in Japan.
